Anne Fernandez, honored as the winner of our 2025 Open Call for Art focusing on Immigrant History, Culture, and Experience, shares a deeply personal narrative through her artwork. Sion Papi tells the poignant story of Anne's journey back to her father's homeland after his passing— a place she hasn’t visited in sixteen years.

As she retraces her father's steps during this intimate two-month voyage, Anne unravels profound truths about his life and their shared heritage. This beautifully crafted animated documentary serves as a heartfelt exploration of intergenerational storytelling, reconnection, and healing. 💖
