X Marks The SPOT 2026 🌟

Join us from May 1-2, 2026, as X Marks The SPOT returns as part of the SPOT Festival in beautiful Aarhus! The Institut for (X) will once again open its doors, transforming the venue into a vibrant organism created for and by the community.

This isn’t just a one-time event; it’s a culmination of year-long collaborations, collective creativity, and a shared sense of ownership. Over 600 dedicated members contribute to shaping a program that grows organically, where community needs guide the initiative. Join us in celebrating alternative culture and local initiatives, reclaiming the city as we transform gardens, rooftops, and hidden corners into our very own Island of Connections!

Program Highlights 🗓️
In 2026, the event will feature four unique stages, each designed in collaboration with local and external partners:

• A-House Stage: An intimate indoor venue (capacity: 200)
• Garden Stage: A spacious outdoor area beside Aarhus School of Architecture (capacity: 500)
• Palmehaven Stage: A cozy, speakeasy atmosphere perfect for networking
• Gadekæret – Sound System Stage: Located at the skatebowl

With events running concurrently across both days, enjoy a variety of performances and activities that invoke a strong sense of community and creativity. This festival is all about immersing yourself in an experience that encourages exploration, presence, and artistic bravery.

New Collaborations & Exciting Features 🎉
The Curators Collective (CuCo), a year-long initiative connecting young curators from Denmark, will showcase selected works and formats at the festival, culminating in a public showcase during SPOT Festival 2026.

Don’t miss out on the Solace Soundsystem x LYC x Island of Connections – Gadekæret Get Down! This collaboration celebrates sound system culture with UK Garage selections and live MCs hailing from London, including local skate competitions.

Wake up to Classical Intermezzo with special intimate rooftop performances, where artists play acoustic melodies in unexpected locations throughout the festival.

• Access: Entry requires either a SPOT Festival Wristband or the limited X Marks The SPOT Wristband, available for 120 DKK via Billetto (early-bird options available).
• Location: Institute for (X), Aarhus, Denmark. Festival activities will take place across various indoor spaces, gardens, and the Gadekæret area.
• Accessibility: We're committed to being inclusive! Accessibility information and guidelines will be provided ahead of the festival.
