• Lamia, inspired by a Keats poem, was performed at the Proms for seven seasons but fell into obscurity until 2010.
• Florence Price made history as the first black woman to have a symphony performed by a major orchestra.
• Doreen Carwithen was the pioneering woman to work full-time as a film composer worldwide.

The second half culminates in a powerful performance of Bartók’s dazzling Concerto for Orchestra! 🎶
