Join us on an enlightening winter foraging walk and uncover the hidden treasures of wild plants in your local area. This guided adventure takes you through varied landscapes as we hunt for nature’s best seasonal wild foods that winter offers.

Throughout the journey, you will build the confidence to correctly identify edible plants and learn how to incorporate these wonderful ingredients into your cooking! If luck is on our side, we might even witness the sweet sap flowing from birch trees.

Winter may seem like a lean season for foragers, but rest assured, nature has plenty of delicious treats waiting for those who know where to look! From woodlands and hedgerows to meadows, there’s an abundance of wild food awaiting discovery.

👨‍🏫 About Your Tutor:
James is a seasoned Bushcraft Instructor and Forest School Leader with over a decade of experience in environmental conservation. He holds a Bushcraft Competency Certificate from the Institute for Outdoor Learning and previously managed Long Wood Community Woodland, the largest community-owned woodland in Wales.

🏞️ About the Venue:
Park In The Past boasts 120 acres of natural beauty featuring woodlands, wetlands, and a stunning 35-acre lake, with the River Alyn flowing gracefully through. Visitors can step back 2,000 years to explore the reconstructed Roman Fort, a unique project in experimental archaeology.
