Join us for an unforgettable evening as the all-star quintet Vernaculars performs Ask the Ages, the iconic final album by legendary free jazz guitarist Sonny Sharrock! 🌟

In a unique twist, this performance will feature a dynamic twin-guitar frontline with local virtuosos Karl Evangelista and David James. They are supported by bassist Chris Trinidad, drummer Jimmy Biala, and the celebrated saxophonist Francis Wong, creating a cohesive sound that pushes the boundaries of music. 🎶

Vernaculars is a vibrant collective of Bay Area artists dedicated to exploring Filipino American music, Asian American jazz, and avant-garde concepts. Inspired by the groundbreaking Asian Improv aRts organization (AIR), founded by Wong and pianist Jon Jang, the group forges new paths for Asian Americans in creative music and contemporary art. 🎨

Ask the Ages is universally recognized as a cornerstone of free jazz, featuring Sharrock’s original compositions alongside a monumental ensemble that included Pharoah Sanders, Charnett Moffett, and Elvin Jones.
