🌊 Step back in time to 1518 and join us as we explore the compelling story of an oyster catcher who tragically drowned at Pin Mill, on the River Orwell. This event led to a remarkable legal inquiry where local mariners recounted their accounts in their own words, providing an astonishing glimpse into the lives of ordinary people in Suffolk 500 years ago.
✨ Funded by the British Academy, Dr. Tom Johnson, Matt Shenton, and Suffolk Archives have collaborated to revive these historical narratives through an innovative blend of performance, sound art, music, and a digital exhibition.
🎉 Join us for the launch of this unique exhibition! Dr. Johnson will discuss life in Tudor maritime communities, while you'll have the opportunity to enjoy live performances of these testimonies.
