During the open house, you'll get a glimpse into how the talented designers at Bowne create limited edition designs that highlight the unique aspects of the Seaport Museum’s impressive printing and graphic arts collection. 📜✨
A bit about Bowne & Co.: Established in 1775 by Robert Bowne, it stands as New York’s oldest continuously operating business under the same name. This historic print shop has teamed up with the Seaport Museum since 1975, offering visitors a chance to experience 19th-century-style printing firsthand!
👉 Important Details:
- Prerequisite: Pre-registration is encouraged to secure your spot. Walk-ins will be accommodated as space permits, and only credit or debit cards are accepted.
- Age Requirement: Open to all participants aged 12 and older.
- Keep Your Creations: Everyone gets to take home their printed items! 🎁
- If you can’t stay for the full 90 minutes, feel free to leave early, though you may miss out on your special keepsake!
Note: Access to historic ships and exhibitions is not included with your event ticket. If you wish to explore further, consider booking General Admission, which is available Friday through Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00. 🌟 This ticket allows you to board the 1885 tall ship Wavertree and 1908 lightship Ambrose at Pier 16, as well as access to current exhibitions in the Schermerhorn Row galleries at 12 Fulton Street and the immersive Maritime City exhibition at A.A. Thomson & Co., located at 213 Water Street.
