SKÅNES DANSTEATER, in collaboration with choreographer Philippe Blanchard, presents "The Upheaval", which delves into ecological sustainability within the performing arts. The artistic team will bring their studio practice to IAC, inviting dialogue and feedback from an interested audience.

As the climate emergency deepens, this project transcends mere emissions discussions to engage with the ethical dimensions of performing arts methodologies. It challenges us to reflect on what we produce, how we create, and the value systems that underpin them.

✨ This initiative will culminate in a dance work featuring six dancers in the summer of 2026. Together with dramaturge Maika Knoblich, Philippe Blanchard explores the philosophical concept of opacity as articulated by Édouard Glissant, inviting audiences to engage with a tapestry of relations, histories, and gestures.

💭 This session poses critical questions: Can we imagine artistic practices that relate, resonate, and respond without the need to extract or explain? How can dance serve as a conduit for ecologically sound, politically urgent narratives?
