Ripon To York Overnight Expedition 2026

🌊 Join us for an unforgettable overnight paddle from Ripon to York! 🚣‍♂️

Meet us at Ripon Canal Basin for a comprehensive safety briefing and to collect your gear. Prepare for a breathtaking 48km journey over 2 days as we glide through stunning landscapes and picturesque waterways.

🗓️ Schedule:

• Day 1:

  • 9:00 AM: Kick off your adventure on the scenic Ripon Canal. After navigating a couple of locks, we’ll enjoy a break at the charming Oxclose Lock. Keep an eye out for wildlife including kingfishers and herons!
  • Enjoy lunch at Westwick Lock after passing the magnificent gardens of Newby Hall and the vibrant town of Boroughbridge. We’ll set up camp at Linton Ouse Lock, where a delightful pub meal awaits you in the evening.

• Day 2:

  • Begin with a hearty breakfast at the pub before breaking down camp. Today’s paddle to York will be slightly shorter, with the river bustling with cruise boats and barges. Celebrate your achievement with a drink in York before we transport you back to Ripon! 🥳

🏕️ What We Provide:

• Long john wetsuit & wetsuit top
• Quality paddle jacket
• Buoyancy aid, waist leash, paddle, and SUP board
• Tent (2/3 person shared between paddlers)

🗒️ What You Need to Bring:

• Trainers or wetsuit shoes
• Base layer top & mid-weight fleece
• Spare clothing, small travel towel, and 1 liter of water (no alcohol)
• Packed lunch, snacks, personal medication, and more.
