Essential Requirements:

• Paddling experience: You should have completed an introductory SUP session or be self-sufficient.
• Self-rescue skills: Must be able to get back on your board in deep water unassisted.
• Swimming ability: Comfort in the water is a must.
• Flexibility: Ability to transition from kneeling to standing on the board.

Event Details:

• Meeting Point: Boroughbridge Marina Carpark, where you will receive a safety brief and equipment.
• Facilities: Toilet facilities are available at the carpark.
• Transport: We will provide transport from Boroughbridge to Ripon to start the paddle.
• Paddle Distance: The journey spans 11 km and lasts approximately 3.5 to 4.5 hours.

What to Expect:

Experience the tranquility of the Ripon canal as we paddle through picturesque landscapes. During the trip, we’ll stop at the charming Oxclose Lock for snacks and a breather. You'll glide down the serene river Ure, with the sounds of nature as your backdrop, keeping an eye out for beautiful riverine wildlife like kingfishers and herons.

Along the way, enjoy majestic views of Newby Hall's gardens before reaching our endpoint at the lovely town of Boroughbridge.
