On Leaving

🎶 Join us for a poignant concert that explores themes of loss, longing, and transcendence through the beauty of choral music.

At the heart of the evening lies Galina Grigorjeva’s hauntingly beautiful piece, Na Ishod (On Leaving), featuring a choir, tenor soloist, flute, and percussion. This contemporary work is complemented by two cherished Bach motets, Komm, Jesu, komm and Jesu, meine Freude, which radiate consolation and renewal.

The program also includes moving motets from Jacobus Gallus (1550–1591) and Alonso Lobo (1555–1617) that reflect on mourning and redemption, alongside Max Reger’s poignant Der Mensch lebt und bestehet. Together, these pieces create a luminous meditation on parting and remembrance, showcasing music’s incredible ability to uplift the spirit and soothe the heart.
