The Green Corn Festival is a significant event celebrated by many Native American tribes, symbolizing gratitude for the harvest. Held in late summer or early fall, it pays homage to the bountiful ripe corn, essential to the agricultural traditions of the Lenape people.

🌱 Corn, beans, and squash—known as "The Three Sisters"—formed the dietary staples of these great farmers. These ingredients were often combined in a vegetable dish called succotash. After the celebration, some corn remained on the stalks, allowing it to ripen further for preservation through the winter.

Come and join us in honoring the rich agricultural heritage of the Lenape!
