🙏 Experience the sincere yet profound faith reflected in Dvořák's Biblical Songs, crafted in March 1894 during his time in America. These ten songs, based on Psalms translated into Czech from the Kralická Bible, are celebrated for their melodic beauty and delicate intimacy—an essential gem in the realm of Czech song literature. The orchestral arrangement, realised by Jarmil Burghauser and Jan Hanuš, adds layers of richness.

🦊 The world of animals and humans uniquely intertwines in Janáček's The Cunning Little Vixen, one of the composer's most beloved operas. Inspired by Rudolf Těsnohlídek's narrative, Janáček adapted the libretto himself. The story follows a vixen discovered abandoned by a gamekeeper, attempting to raise her alongside a dachshund and some hens, viewed from an “animal” perspective. This opera showcases humorous, fairy-tale-like moments alongside serious and dramatic themes, culminating in a poignant reflection on the eternal cycle of life in nature. 🌱

🌿 Premiering on November 6, 1924 in Brno, this opera initially garnered positive reception, but achieved decisive success years later. The orchestral suite put together by prominent Czech conductor Jakub Hrůša in 2017 highlights the almost Debussy-like colorfulness and irresistible beauty of Janáček's music.
