Heidi's Marathon of strength to lift deaf cancer warrior

🌟 Join me in April 2026 as I embark on a remarkable 26-mile marathon, a challenge my doctors never dreamed I'd take on! My name is Heidi, and I am a Deaf Blind woman living bravely with Usher Syndrome and stage 4 adrenal cancer. I fight each day, reminding myself that I am invincible! 💪

This marathon is not just about endurance; it’s a powerful message of hope and resilience. Together, we can transform lives by supporting two incredible organizations that advocate for Deaf individuals and those facing cancer.

During my cancer treatment, I spent months without an interpreter. I felt isolated, misunderstood, and unheard. This isn't just my story; it reflects the harsh reality for many Deaf and Deaf Blind patients. However, two communities made a significant difference in my life:

1. Deaf Cancer Support Project - run by Self Help UK, this project provides a welcoming online space for Deaf cancer patients and survivors to connect, share experiences, and access crucial interpreter support. Their help turned my feelings of confusion into clarity!

2. RJ Care Social Club - they supported me in regaining my confidence and reconnecting with the world around me, making sure I never felt alone again.

Through this marathon, I honor these organizations and aim to ensure that no other Deaf or Deaf Blind cancer patient faces silence like I did. Your donations will directly fund vital services for Deaf individuals impacted by cancer and isolation, supporting both the Deaf Cancer Support Project and the RJ Care Social Club.
