Join us for a poignant program that brings to life the remarkable story of Cornelia Hancock, a courageous Quaker nurse during the Civil War. 🏥✊

In 1863, at just 23 years old, Cornelia took a bold step: "After my only brother and every other male relative and friend that we possessed had gone to War, I deliberately came to the conclusion that I, too, would go and serve my country." Just two days after the legendary Battle of Gettysburg, she became the first woman to reach the 2nd Corps Hospital of the Union Army of the Potomac, dedicating her efforts to nursing soldiers for the rest of the war. 💔

Today, Cornelia’s bravery is often overlooked, but author Carolyn Ivanoff is here to share her extraordinary journey through her own poignant letters and reflections. 📜

With a background as a retired high school administrator and independent historian, Carolyn has received numerous accolades for her contributions to historical education. Her previous work, We Fought at Gettysburg, showcases firsthand accounts from heroes of the 17th Connecticut Infantry.

Don't miss this opportunity to experience history from a woman's perspective during one of the most tumultuous times in American history!
