Crying by the Sea (البكاء على حافة البحر) 🌍✨

To publikummer træder ind i hver sin teatersal på hvert sit kontinent på samme tid.
Der er intet andet i salen end en digital projektion på endevæggen.

Two audiences enter each their theatre on each their continent at the same time.

Crying by the Sea (البكاء على حافة البحر) berører det hav af sorg, der er forbundet med socioøkonomisk migration gennem poetisk tekst om afstand, tab, grænser og længsel.
I forestillingen får du udleveret et manuskript og bliver inviteret til at læse op fra en tekst om at krydse grænser - fysiske såvel som metafysiske - sammen med det publikum, der sidder i teatersalen i bjergbyen, El kef i Tunesien.
I inviteres til at læse op på dansk, engelsk og arabisk.
Efterfølgende inviteres I til at omskrive teksten for at overgive en ny version af manuskriptet til et kommende publikum.

Forestillingen er blevet til gennem workshops i Danmark og Tunesien med det formål at bruge teaterrummet til kollektiv sorgbearbejdelse og et sted, hvor nye forbindelser og møder kan finde sted.
Det kunstneriske hold har derfor kodet forestillingens live stream fra bunden med henblik på at skabe selvorganiserede online infrastrukturer for digitale kunstneriske møder.

Crying by the Sea (البكاء على حافة البحر) touches upon the sea of sorrow associated with socio-economic migration through poetic text about distance, loss, borders, and longing.
In the performance, you will be handed a script and invited to read aloud from a text about overcoming borders - both physical and metaphysical - with the audience sitting in the mountain city of El kef, Tunisia.
You are encouraged to read in Danish, English, and Arabic, and afterward invited to rewrite the text to pass on a new version to the next audience.

The performance developed through workshops in Denmark and Tunisia aims to use the theatrical space for collective processing of grief, serving as a place for new connections and meetings.
Hence, the artistic team has programmed the live stream from scratch to create self-organized online infrastructures for artistic meetings.

The show is currently performed simultaneously at:

• Teaterøen, Copenhagen (Denmark)
• Theatre du Poche, El kef (Tunisia)

It will continue until the last actor leaves the stage and then online at: theatrebuilding.com.
