This spring, be part of something extraordinary at Sunny Sands! 🌊 Join us for a world record attempt as we try to host the largest community book exchange ever! Picture hundreds of people gathering along the beach, swapping stories as the bell rings, and coming together for a massive group photo to capture this historic moment. 📸

This free event is open to everyone as part of the Folkestone is a Library initiative—a celebration of books, stories, and community while we eagerly await the reopening of our town library. By participating, you'll help showcase that Folkestone is a vibrant living library, brimming with imagination and connections! 🤗

How to Join:

  • Register in advance
  • Bring along a book you'd love to share and swap it on the day

Expect to enjoy live entertainment, and our official adjudicators and press photographers will be on-site to document this record-breaking attempt! 🎉 We encourage families, children, and young people to be the heart of this celebration. If you have any extra children’s books, feel free to donate them at the Quarterhouse prior to the event.

This event is more than just trying to break a record—it’s a heartfelt celebration of community, creativity, and the joy of sharing stories. 🌟

ABOUT FOLKESTONE IS A LIBRARY
This campaign, led by Creative Folkestone, aims to keep the spirit of the library alive despite the wait for our public library to reopen. Through exciting events, community projects, and creative exchanges, this innovative project highlights that a library is comprised of people, stories, and shared imagination, rather than just a building.
