🌟 Save the Date! Join us for a remarkable evening with the acclaimed author Imani Perry at the Maplewood Memorial Library on February 27, 2026, from 19:00 to 20:30!
📚 As we honor Black History Month, Imani Perry, a National Book Award winning writer, will deliver an insightful talk on the importance of history in an age of erasure. Her works delve into the rich, complex narrative of Black thought, art, and imagination. Perry emphasizes:
“If there were one impact I’d like my work to have, it would be that people would cease talking about African American history and culture in terms of deprivation or inadequacy and actually acknowledge its depth and complexity and beauty.”
✍️ Following the talk, there will be an opportunity for a book signing!
🎟️ This event is free and open to all; no registration is required.
