👨‍🎤 About the Duo

The artistic bond between Mirko Roverelli and Monaldo Braconi took shape within the prestigious Orchestra and Choir of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, where they both served as collaborative pianists. Their musical affinity has led to successful ventures into the essential repertoire for choir and four-hand piano or two pianos.

Their ambitious projects include numerous performances of:

• “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff
• “Les Noces” by Igor Stravinsky
• “Petite Messe Solemnelle” by Gioachino Rossini

Conducted by renowned maestros such as Norbert Balatsch, Andrea Faidutti, Ciro Visco, and Piero Monti. 🎼

In the past chamber music season at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, they took on the absolute premiere of “Les Nuages” by Matteo D’amico, collaborating with choir and cello under the direction of Andrea Secchi.

The duo also contributed to works devoid of choir as co-founders of the PianoFortissimoPercussionEnsemble, showcasing a repertoire that spans from celebrated Americans like Gershwin, Bernstein, and Copland to illustrious French composers like Ravel and Bizet, as well as Spanish influences, captivating audiences everywhere! 🇺🇸🇫🇷🇪🇸

Noteworthy is their performance of Mozart's K 465 for two pianos and orchestra at the Parco della Musica in Rome, conducted by Carlo Rizzari, which is available for viewing on YouTube. 🎥
