Dis Giselle: Crip-Feminist Embodiment – Artist talk at MUNCH

Join artist Saša Asentić for an engaging open discussion about the pivotal themes of the performance Dis Giselle at MUNCH, alongside insights into his artistic process and research focused on the aesthetics of access.

Saša will be accompanied by his collaborator Mandana Kouros, as well as Milesa Milinković, a cultural worker researching disability and gender studies, and curator Katrine Elise Agpalza Pedersen. Jelena Stefanoska, another key collaborator, will also be present to enrich the conversation.

In Dis Giselle, Saša Asentić and his collaborators investigate how accessibility tools serve as both aesthetic and political expressions. The performance challenges the conventional reliance on sight, emphasizing sound as a vital medium of experiencing dance. Accessibility is central, not merely as an addition but as the core of the artistic expression itself.

The discussion will delve into Dis Giselle through the lens of feminist disability theory, providing fresh insights into movement, identity, and societal norms. This initiative is part of Saša Asentić’s PhD research fellowship at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
