🌈 Join us for a transformative experience!
Starting March 13th, 2026, beloved faculty member Caro De Robertis presents her co-curated exhibition, Conjuring Power: Roots & Futures of Queer & Trans Movements, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts! 🎉
This vibrant multimedia exhibition showcases the resilient beauty, cultural diversity, and powerful resistance of queer and trans communities in the Bay Area. 🌟
Embark on a journey through time as you explore how these communities leverage creativity to forge culture, support one another, and empower movements across generations. With spectacular murals, rare documentary photography from the 1970s and 80s, and contemporary queer-futurist video work, Conjuring Power fuses art, history, and imagination into a compelling experience.
Featuring works by celebrated artists including Ester Hernández, Serge Gay, Jr., Tanya Wischerath, and Crystal Mason, alongside emerging artists from the Queer Ancestors Project. The exhibition will also spotlight archival materials from the GLBT Historical Society and audio excerpts from Caro De Robertis’ oral histories with pioneering members of the Elders Project.
Stay tuned for accompanying public programs like panel discussions, gallery talks, and live performances, set to be announced in early 2026.
📍 Location: 701 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94103
