These pioneering women were at the forefront of the Black feminist movement, passionately addressing themes like sexual freedom, domestic violence, and economic inequality.
Among these legends, Bessie Smith, known as the "Empress of the Blues," stood out as the highest-paid and most popular artist of her time.
